Hi Dan

I have a Sun Conure that I got a companion for. The new bird is a male Nanday Conure. Both are hand reared, about a year old and handled each day. They got on well from the first day and are great companions although the Nanday is boss. They get pleasure from the company but if you take one out of the cage the other will keep calling until he is reunited. The Nanday always comes to the front of the cage and still wants human company whenever he can and remains affectionate and demanding. The Sun is less demanding. Neither have changed behavior since bonding and seem very happy.
In my case the companion bird has been a success as they amuse one another but have remained keen on interaction with people.
All the best if you give it a go.....
