Stick training can be very useful for fetching your bird out of remote places, so I would advise you to keep trying. Look at everything you're doing and try to vary it. It took me about three weeks of three 10 minute sessions a day to train one nanday, and others took about ten days.

Talking ability varies with the bird. If yours isn't interested, don't be surprised or disappointed. Parrots are delightful in so many other ways that talking seems unimportant to many owners.

You might try some pellets, but if she eats a good variety of fruits and veggies (corn, peas, beans, broccoli, spinach, apple, oranges), then you probably don't really need them for the nutrition -- more for simply giving her more choices of things to eat.

Good luck with your new bird -- I hope you and her make each other happy for years to come!
