Subject:transporting a nanday
Message:Hi there,
I just found this message board and you guys are awesome. I've been doing a lot of research but I've already found so much helpful information here.

I'm going to be picking up a Nanday this weekend, and it's going to be about a 3 1/2 to 4 hour drive home with him. I have a bird carrier and I'm picking him up with his cage too (we're also stopping in a nearby town for a larger cage I'm buying off craigslist). I know it's probably safer to transport him in the carrier, but his owner has not ever had his wings clipped and I won't be able to get it done by our vet until after the weekend. Do you think it would be smarter to just leave him in the cage until I can get him in to get his wings clipped, or should I go the pet carrier route? Thanks in advance for all of your help guys.

PS...can anyone recommend a good product to clean and disinfect the cage I'm buying? Thanks!
