|Subject:||Pictures of my nanday family|
|Message:||Ok everyone, if you want to see pictures of Mr. Bird and Kiwi Anna and their eggs you should be able to see them if you go to my website http://linda.empey.net and go to family pets.
You should be able to see the eggs just lying on the cage floor.
A clear shot of Mr. BIrd in his own cage.
And one of Kiwi happily ringing her bell.
Another thing that was brought to my attention: is that some people think their metabolic rates slow down when nesting.
Kiwi Anna seems to be the exception to the rule. She's active, a fierce protector of her eggs, and she's eating at least 3 to 4 times daily at the feed box. She won't let Mr. Bird eat until she's had her fill in addition to him feeding her. She doesn't seem exhausted like I thought she might be. It was actually me worrying about not knowing the signs and losing my bird due to idiocy.
So after all the complications and a few other things that have recently happened to me I decided I needed to set some goals and do everything I can to achieve them.
1. after this nesting experience is over Mr. Bird, Kiwi Anna, and babies if they have any will be seen by our vet to make sure they are ok and healthy. If they aren't I'll take steps to correct the problem.
2. I absolutely must start looking at and reading literature written by the experts and apply them to my flock as I see they will need.
I have other goals as well, but so far these seem to be the most logical and the best way I'll be able to keep my flock happy, healthy, and strong.
