Lord I hope I have come to the right place! I have a beautiful Nanday named Arnie, whom I love to pieces.
He is about 13 years old (I have had him for 9 years, my sis 3 years before that). He will not eat or go anywhere near any of his cuttlebones, calcium blocks, etc. For the last 18 months or so his beak has become extremely brittle and keeps breaking away (not the tip, although this has gone once and I had to rush him to the vets to get them to cut it off completely).
I have tried him of Calcivet, but still his beak keeps breaking away. I am at my wits end because I'm very concerned that he will snap his beak one day I will lose him.
Can anyone advise me on any good medicinal products that might help. Any dietary ideas, or indeed, if anyone is reading this and you happen to live in Chatham, Kent, UK - can you advise of a Aviary specialist I could speak to because my vet simply cannot help me.
Many thanks and advance for any help.
Michelle & Arnie.
