My experience with all parrots is that they are a little more protective of their "turf". Most of the parrots I have had that have a tendency towards nipping seem to do it only when I am trying to remove them from their cage with a step-up maneuver. One thing I have done that has worked very well is to train cage removal step up's using a perch instead of my hand. They usually catch on fast that the nipping won't work on the perch and the habit is quickly broken.
