My Nanday does this all the time. She does it when she's digging for more seeds that are buried and also when she's playing. As long as your Nanday is eating, I don't think it's dissatisfied with the food you feed it. If it's not eating, I'd contact your vet. But I haven't found this behavior to be detrimental to my Nanday.
