Sweet and Sour Sauce

1  clove garlic, minced
1 cup broth ( 1 vegetable bouillon cube
  dissolved in 1 cup water)
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup red wine vinegar
2 tsp soy sauce
2 Tblsp cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water

Saute garlic briefly in a little oil. Stir in next four ingredients. Bring to boiling. Boil rapidly one minute. Slowly blend cold water into cornstarch. Stir into sauce. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly.
